Effective January 1, 2012, a new law ( Education Code Section 49475), requires the student and parent/legal guardian must sign this Concussion Head Injury Information Sheet before a Student may try-out, practice, or compete in any District-sponsored extracurricular athletic program, including interscholastic, intramural, or other sport or recreation programs (including cheer/dance teams and band), but excluding physical education courses for credit.

District Wide Advisory Committee
Purpose of the Career Technical Education (CTE) District Wide Advisory Committee:
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Career Technical Education Department is responsible for development and implementation of career technical classes. According to federal and state guidelines, these classes should be organized into a scope and sequence and meet industry standards. It is important for the CTE committee to be comprised of a variety of people including, but not limited to: business partners, community leaders, parents, students, educators and other interested parties.
AB 1266 Fact Sheet
Assembly Bill 1266, the School Success and Opportunity Act, is a piece of legislation that was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown in August of 2013 and will go into effect January 1, 2014. It amends the California State Education Code to clarify the roles of school staff in working with students of all genders, and clarifies that students’ access to educational resources shall correspond to the student’s gender identity.
Transgender and gender non-conforming youth face unique challenges and obstacles in schools that may inhibit a student’s ability to learn. The School Success and Opportunity Act was written to provide these youth with equal access to educational programs.
