At the March 21 meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board, the Board announced that Kaylee Gomez B. Cervantez has been appointed Principal of Father Keith B. Kenny Elementary School.

March 7, 2024

At the March 7 meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board, the Board announced that Christopher Ralston has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent for Facility Support Services, and recognized students from Miwok Middle School who participate in the “Oakey Dokies†as Stellar Students. The Oakey Dokies is an extracurricular jazz band ensemble directed by district music teacher Patricia Wassum. The students named their band as a play on words with the new Miwok mascot, the mighty Oak tree.

At the February 15 meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Sam Brannan Middle School students Sabrina Mallette and Bella Pedroza as Stellar Students. Sabrina is recognized by school staff for being kind, hardworking, creative, and caring for her school community. Bella is a straight A student with a passion for learning, excellent citizenship, and classwork that consistently exceeds expectations.

SCUSD Board of Education Recap
February 1, 2024

At the February 1 meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Stellar Student Melanie Raya, a student at Hollywood Park Elementary School. Melanie is a member of the Hollywood Park Elementary School Leadership Club and plays on the school’s basketball team. Staff at Melanie’s school describe her as hard-working, trustworthy, responsible, respectful, and say she is a great role model for her fellow students.

TK-8 Open Enrollment Starts February 5

The SCUSD Open Enrollment application for incoming Transitional Kindergarten through 8th Grade opens Monday, February 5 at 8:00 a.m. and will run through Friday, February 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for your student to apply for enrollment to a different school than their neighborhood school for the 2024-2025 school year, based on space availability.

At the January 18 meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Stellar Student Anna Bassi, a 7th grader at Alice Birney TK-8 Public Waldorf School. Anna is an exceptionally well-rounded student. She was recognized for her impressive visual and performing arts talents and contributions, her outstanding academic success, and the kindness and friendliness she demonstrates at school.
