At the January 18 meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Stellar Student Anna Bassi, a 7th grader at Alice Birney TK-8 Public Waldorf School. Anna is an exceptionally well-rounded student. She was recognized for her impressive visual and performing arts talents and contributions, her outstanding academic success, and the kindness and friendliness she demonstrates at school. 

The Board took actions to approve MOUs between the District and labor partners United Professional Educators, Teamsters Classified Supervisors, and Teamsters, Local 150, and salary improvements for the District’s non-represented, confidential and management employees.

The Board received informational updates on three topics:

  • The District’s work to improve culture and climate at all SCUSD schools by providing culturally responsive professional learning for District staff;
  • The District’s Strategic Arts Plan and a proposed plan for ways that arts instruction can be implemented to ensure that every student has access to quality arts instruction during the school day; and
  • Enrollment and attendance at SCUSD schools over the first three months of the school year.
