GATE Services Status and Notification Process

GATE screening results and screening assessment scores will be mailed to all families in grades 1 & 3. Student need for GATE services is determined through a multi-step process that includes not only the CogAT results, but also academic factors and social-emotional considerations.

Middle School Academic Services
Advanced Classes

To provide equitable access to advanced courses, each spring, SCUSD universally screens 6th grade students for advanced course placement in middle school. Advanced courses are available in math, science, language arts and history/social studies starting in 7th grade. All students have the opportunity to qualify for any or all advanced courses, through district-wide placement criteria.

Information on School Requirements and Where to Get Immunizations

Overview

Staying current with immunizations is a valuable tool in protecting your child from dangerous diseases.   It is also an essential component of preparing for school and meeting California Immunization Requirements for School Entry. 

Vaccines are free to all children through their health insurance or through public programs such as Medi-Cal and CHDP.  Whenever possible, students should receive vaccines during their annual physical exam with their healthcare provider.

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)

Students who have been victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE) face additional challenges in the school setting. Our work is informed by survivor and youth voice with the goal of providing prevention and intervention services so that no student falls through the cracks. Using trauma informed practices, all at-risk or identified CSEC students within SCUSD have access to the following services:

Credit Recovery Program

Overview

The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District is pleased to announce that we will be providing credit recovery for 9-12th grade students this summer. 

Our Credit Recovery Program will run from June 30-July 29.
