C-SPAN’s StudentCam documentary competition for middle and high school students returns for its 21st year and we at Spectrum are excited to continue partnering with them and spreading the word on this educational initiative. StudentCam is an incredible opportunity that engages the next generation of young adults to explore topics they are passionate about and that will affect their futures.
Following the November election, C-SPAN is looking for students to delve into the heart of the issues they want to see addressed by the new presidential administration. Students must create a 5- to 6- minute documentary on the theme: “Your Message to the President: What issue is most important to you or your community?â€
The deadline to submit completed entries is Jan. 20, 2025. In the spring, the C-SPAN Education Foundation will award cash prizes totaling $100,000 to the winning students and teachers, including a top prize of $5,000.
Whether this is your first time or your 21st time incorporating StudentCam into your curriculum, the staff at C-SPAN offers virtual meetings to answer any questions. We hope you and your students will take advantage of this innovative enrichment-learning experience and help spread the word about StudentCam. If you have questions or would like to join a StudentCam webinar, email the C-SPAN Classroom team at educate@c-span.org.
