Washington Community Meeting Specific Questions

The Restorative Justice School Vision Project has worked with Washington since 2010. Last year, students received funding through Project Green for a Restorative Justice Garden. What will become of this funding?
If Washington is closed, the Project Green funding will follow the students to their new schools.
The area surrounding Washington has problems with homelessness and drugs. What will become of the school if it closes?
SCUSD will secure and maintain the campus.
Are you going to make Washington a charter school?
There are no plans currently to open a charter school at Washington. Once the Board takes action on February 21, a 7-11 Committee (a committee with either seven or 11 members) will be formed to research, investigate and recommend re-use and re-purposing options for the sites to be closed next fall.
Are the property values of schools that are recommended for closure higher than other schools?
There are no plans currently to sell schools recommended for closure. No research has been conducted on the property values of these campuses.
