Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - Beginning today, Thursday, June 30, 2022, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District’s (SCUSD) Nutrition Services Department is offering breakfast and lunch at more than 30 SCUSD school locations.

All children 18 years-old and under can receive a meal, no paperwork necessary and enrollment is not required. The summer meal program is available Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch through Friday, July 29, 2022. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - An investigation into racist graffiti and social media activity at West Campus High School in November 2021 is now complete and a report has been issued.  The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District immediately retained a neutral outside investigator who spent six months looking into the complaints about West Campus.  This investigation was separate from the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Police Department’s criminal investigation of the matter.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - At a Special Meeting of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District (SCUSD) Board of Education, the Board adopted a policy to use health metrics to guide decisions on the district’s masking requirement.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified will shift from requiring masking to strongly recommending masking, starting Monday, April 18. This shift in policy follows the that Â鶹ÊÓƵ County maintained a low transmission level of COVID-19 for four consecutive weeks.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District has received notification that Dr. Elysse Versher intends to resign from her position as Vice Principal at West Campus High.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District has ended its employment relationship with a teacher who used racist language in a classroom at Kit Carson International Academy last June. The district quickly removed the teacher from the classroom following the incident, and the teacher was placed on administrative leave during an investigation about the matter.  

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board of Education tonight approved contract agreements that were recently negotiated with SCTA and SEIU.  Our focus has now turned on recovering learning time that was lost due to the recent strike, which our students and families deserve.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District (SCUSD) and the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Teachers Association (SCTA) have taken an important step toward reaching an agreement on how to recover school days and instructional time that were lost due to the strike, which began March 23rd.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA â€“ The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District (SCUSD) has reached agreements with SCTA and with SEIU Local 1021 that end the strike. The agreement with SEIU and SCTA were reached following negotiations sessions throughout the weekend.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA â€“  The following provides an update on where negotiations stand with SCTA and SEIU.
 
SCTA and SEIU are independent labor unions that are currently striking at the same time. The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District (SCUSD) is in active, yet separate, negotiations with both labor partners. The SCUSD team has devoted considerable hours in the past few days meeting with both union bargaining teams and in caucus to discuss options and ideas for resolving this dispute.
