Staying sharp: Barbers pledge 300 free haircuts to kids who read to them this summer

July 5, 2016 (Â鶹ÊÓƵ): To help kids stay sharp this summer, Â鶹ÊÓƵ barbers are partnering with SCUSD and Â鶹ÊÓƵ Public Library on a literacy drive that rewards students for reading.
Ten barbershops have agreed to give away 30 free haircuts this summer to students who read a book to a barber. Â鶹ÊÓƵ Public Library is supplying 300 books for the initiative.

July 14, 2016 (Â鶹ÊÓƵ): Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District will launch its One Book One Â鶹ÊÓƵ summer literacy book giveaway with a rousing read-in and sing-along at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Zoo on Monday morning.
