Student Attendance & Engagement Office Messaging for Winter

Every winter, bad weather and colds, fevers and earaches can present challenges to getting children to school. On top of all that, hardships have worsened for many and students may have to stay home due to Covid-19 or flu.

Chronic absence more than doubled in 2021-22.  It is even more important to communicate with our families about the  importance of learning and offering support to help them overcome challenges! Too many absences can make it hard for students to stay engaged, connected and learning.

22-23 Contact Tracing Protocols -must send exposure notices to parents/guardians

While we have shifted many Covid protocols – when someone is positive for Covid who was present during the infectious period - schools must continue sending out exposure notices to impacted classrooms/cohorts as soon as possible.  These exposure notices inform our community to take further steps to protect their health and well-being.

Using local data, analyze whether your planned high-leverage strategies/activities have been effective in achieving your goals thus far. This Mid-year Review and analysis should assist in making updates to your SPSA.
