Sac City Unified Seeks Impasse Determination to Resolve Issues Impacting Continuity of Learning During the 2021-2022 School Year

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA – Today the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District declared that it has reached an impasse in its efforts to negotiate with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Teachers Association (SCTA) over issues related to reopening schools for in-person instruction and independent study during the 2021-22 school year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The district has submitted a request for an impasse determination from the Public Employment Relations Board.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Students and Staff Approved by Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Board of Education

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA – The Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District took action at the October 12 Special Board of Education Meeting to require vaccinations against COVID-19 for both staff and eligible students (ages 12 and over) by November 30, 2021. 

The process to submit vaccination records, or to file an exemption for medical or personal beliefs, will be announced later this month for those opting to undergo regular routine COVID-19 testing.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District Trials Safety Technology on School Buses

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA –  In an effort to assess pupil transportation safety and to tackle the problem of motorists illegally passing stopped school buses, Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District has partnered with to launch a pilot program. The district has equipped five of its buses with AI-powered stop-arm cameras to help deter drivers from illegally passing stopped school buses.

SCUSD Vaccination Clinics to Receive Pfizer-BioNTech Pediatric Vaccine Doses for Ages 5-plus Starting Wednesday, November 10

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, CA –  Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District (SCUSD) announced today that all upcoming SCUSD hosted COVID-19 vaccination clinics will now serve all community members ages 5 and up. Ages 5 to 11 are now eligible to receive Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine through the emergency use authorization from the United States Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
