Students Making Real Change
Project Green will give students the opportunity to have a real and lasting impact on the school site they occupy on a daily basis, providing a voice to make a lasting change at their school site and across the District. The students are involved throughout the whole process, from the initial research to the final presentation and implementation. They work with district and local professionals to identify capital improvement projects that will reduce water and energy consumption and improve their learning environment. 2012 Project Green Funding Allocations
$5 Million of Redevelopment Funds Were Awarded to Fifteen Schools
Fourteen SCUSD schools and McClaskey Adult Center were allocated bond funding for green school projects at an event at Rosemont High School Thursday night. SCUSD launched Project Green this year to add a real-world application to classroom instruction about the environment and sustainable living. Campuses across the district were encouraged to form student 鈥済reen teams鈥 to conduct 鈥済reen audits鈥 of school facilities.
