Procedures for Locating and Identifying Children with Disabilities

Child Find Obligations

The Child Find process requires Â鶹ÊÓƵ City Unified School District (SCUSD) to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities residing in its jurisdiction. This obligation includes all students who attend private (including religious) schools, migrant or homeless students, students who are wards of the State, and students with suspected disabilities who are not advancing in grade level.

SELPA Local Plan Assurances

There are currently 23 Federal and Local Assurances to which each SELPA and member Local Education Agency (LEA) must adhere.  In approving the Local Plan, SELPA and each member LEA agrees that they will uphold each of these assurances, and they must cite the location of each corresponding local policy and procedure.
