Summer Matters is a FREE 24-day summer school program for TK-8 students. Your TK-8 student can beat summer learning loss while experiencing fun academic and enrichment activities!
- Instruction from credentialed teachers including exciting science topics
- Field trips and special events
- Physical play and exercise
- Social skill building
- Free breakfast and lunch served daily
Students from any school may apply to any site listed below based on their grade level. Applicants must provide their own transportation to and from Summer Matters.

Current High School Students
Although we do not offer Summer Matters at the high school level, there are summer learning opportunities available to your high school student.
Summer at City Hall
Summer at City Hall is a program that is available to high school students in partnership with the City of Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Between June 24 – July 26, students enjoy an interactive learning experience learning how government works and the importance of civic engagement. Students who complete the program will receive a $500 stipend. .
Credit Recovery
Students in need of recovering credit in order to graduate on time can complete most courses online, facilitated by an SCUSD credit recovery teacher. Please see your child’s school counselor to enroll in summer school.
Bridge and Specialty Programs
Some high schools may offer bridge and specialty programs for students. These programs will be advertised by the school sites and students will be supported to enroll.
