Response to Public Questions

1. How will the district provide staff for events scheduled through the civic permits process with custodial and plant manager layoffs?

Response: The option to work a permitted event is offered to school site staff first. If school site staffers decline the work, it is offered to other district staff or a substitute custodian/plant manager is used. Laid-off custodians and plant managers have the option to apply for substitute positions.

2. Do we calculate drop-out rates for middle school students?

Response: Drop-out data for middle schools has not been collected by the California Department of Education since 2004-05. Drop-out data for high schools was presented during the high school data presentation to the Board of Education. The information can be found here.
